Notify your schools health office of any COVID testing and results. We track all communicable disease such as flu or strep positives as well.

Stay Home Guidelines

The following are general guidelines to follow to determine if you should keep your student home from school. This is not all-inclusive but provides a general rule of thumb. If you have any questions or concerns you may contact your building health staff.

IF STUDENT: Pending COVID-19 test results-DO NOT SEND UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED RESULTS.

Temperature of 100.0 or above and/or has had a fever the day before school. Student should be fever free for 24 hours without any fever reducing medications (i.e.: Tylenol/Ibuprofen) before returning to school.

  • If student has additional symptoms of illness please follow that back-to-school protocol.

Vomiting. Student should be episode free for 24 hours before returning to school.

Diarrhea (3 episodes in 24hr period). Student should remain at home until free of symptoms.

Strep Throat (positive throat culture from the doctor). Student should be on an antibiotic for 24 hours and fever free for 24 hours without any fever reducing medications (i.e.: Tylenol/Ibuprofen) before returning to school.

Skin (open sores/wound/contagious rash). The area(s) must be covered by a bandage to attend school. Some cases may require doctor note to return.

Pink-eye (has red, glassy eye(s) with purulent drainage). Student must be treated for 24 hours and no drainage present before returning to school. Doctor note or proof of treatment may be required to return.

Lice (live bugs). Student must be treated and then transported by guardian for a recheck by the school nurse before returning to school/bus.

  • Flu. Student must be fever free for 24 hours without any fever reducing medications (i.e.: Tylenol/Ibuprofen). Student could be considered contagious for up to 7 days.

COVID-19. If student is showing 1+ signs/symptoms of COVID-19 with no other possible known cause DO NOT send student to school. Contact your health care provider for additional direction and then follow back-to-school COVID-19 protocol.
